Moving
The queen is the most powerful piece in the game and each player gets only one. They combine the movements of the bishop and the rook. Therefore, they can move horizontally, vertically or diagonally any number of squares they wish.
Capturing
Again, the queen captures the same way they move, as the illustration above shows.
